"The Mythology of Rochester"

12 mythological creatures and their stories created by 10 juried artist pairings + 2 local student groups

The judges have spoken and the visual and literary artists are now hard at work creating their piece of this summer's fantastic public art project by Art Esprit. This year the stories will be woven by master story teller Joanne Piazzi into a book which will tell the larger tale of these creatures interactions.

Based on historical people, natural land formations and area landmarks these stories and their counterparts in visual form will take shape in a walking tour across the city. Each group was selected by a jury to fill the 10 slots. Two student groups - one from Spaulding High School and one from Rochester Middle School were selected to create their myths of Rochester.

All will be revealed on June 2nd as they are unveiled to the public in a five month appearance in the city of Rochester, NH.

Mythology of Rochester Opening Day Celebration!
